Uses for the XL Camp Stove

Uses for the XL Camp Stove

This forum is for a general disucssion of the woodgas camp stove XL model. The XL is the most popular model. I'd like to know where and how you guys are using your XL's out in the field.

Are you using them around the house, out camping at camp grounds, or in the deep woods? What do you like to cook on it?

The XL is used usually for camping for me. It starts in the morning with 2 runs. Once for tea/coffee (I am the tea person, wife is the coffee person). Once for a boiled egg.

In the evening we usually do one run for a dried soup (you know, add boiling water). If we have a cooler we bring a little chicken on skewers and we do that the first night. Turns out great laying the skewers across the X shaped grate that comes with the XL.

And on a couple occasions we simply had to boil the water to drink because it was not safe and we were out of Chlorine pills. When we boil the water it tastes so much better than the pills.

Fun product!
